Matt from Mattlures is the world record holder for common goldfish ( Carassius auratus ).

way back in 1985 I caught a 4 lb line class World Record Striper, of 16 lb 4ounces. It got crushed about 2 years later... but that was fine. Records are made to be broken. They can't take my IGFA certficiate away from me :-)

Then I caught the Rancho Seco Lk. record Largemouth, of 18.4 lbs, on 4/10/03, which, because of the current situation in that lake, is liable to stand for a long time..... or even permanently. Nonetheless, I'd love to see that place make a comeback. What a great place that was.

Peace,

Fish

PS, My 8.5 lb PB Smallmouth "was the Lk. record" the week before I caught her.... but had lost .4 lbs since the week before, during her previous C/R. Since then, however, there have been at least three 9+ lb'ers caught, one of which, a 9.7 lb'er, is now our new state record. I strongly believe that record will be broken again this year though, with a 10+ lb Smallie !!! Crazy, huh ?

They had two 9+'ers caught there during the press day last week before it opened to the public.  What a good way to start the season for that lake.  That lake is going to be pretty heavily fished this year.

Is there a world record for procrastination? If there is, I think I can beat that one, but it will have to wait until tomorrow.  ;)

I know my dad has or may still have the lake record bass for Belews lake NC his is 12lbs+ It was certified by the game warden I won't believe anyone else unless they do the same! A lot of tourney cheating going on at that lake.

I caught a huge Gar at Buggs Island it's back fin was wider than my head and it was 5ft+ long at least. All we could do was hold it beside the boat I wasn't about to ruin the carpet in my dad's bass boat. I caught it on a Rattlin' Rogue. It looked like the huge ones caught up north. I wanted to take it in for weight but we really had no way without sliming the boat to death and loading it on the back of the truck. My dad finally  said I could but I just let it go it wasn't worth the trouble it would have caused me dad.

I have seen citations for Gars and the one I caught would have eaten those citations. I don't know what the state record is but it was for sure the lake.

I hold a few Toledo Bend & Lake Vernon records which I consider unofficial since the Marina/Tournaments Directors have since passed away and no one knows who has these records now.

15 bass limit: 63.945 lbs for a 4.265 average Lake Vernon 05/07/78

2 day tournament/15 bass limit: 21 bass 98.25 lbs for a 4.68 average Toledo Bend 05/06/78

I caught the Savannah River record Redear Sunfish. I smashed the old record by 1.2 lbs. The only problem was I found this out after I had cooked it and had it for dinner. >:(

d**n gene that sucks :'( a buddy of mine was at the cleaning station one time and as he was cutting the filets off the last wiper, the fish and game cop came over to talk and pretty much told him he just filleted the state record wiper

6lbs test/no leader class- 16lb 6oz  Northern Pike.  No idea if it still stands, haven't been an IGFA member for 3 yrs now.
