Cruising bass..what a sight!!!!

Featured Replies

Hey all..

Just wanted to share a quick story..

So often here on BassResource.com we talk about how to, should we, a better way to, catch that next bass... but.....

I was on my local pond yestereday testing out my old tin boat with two old friends and one new one. It was 40 degrees, wind 25-35 mph. and lets just say things didn't go to well with the boat. I grabbed a fishing rod to make a few casts. As I looked over the side of the boat, I saw two of the biggest bass I have ever seen (outside the tank at BPS that is) cruise by the boat. Of course, I threw a lure their way, but they had more on their mind and swam away. I yelled to my buddy, "Did you see those two bass??!! I must have sounded like a kid I was so excited. I said to myself if I have that much passion for this fish to be excited just to see a few "lunkers" swim by, maybe I did make the right decision getting back into bass fishing after so many years off. So let's not forget what it's REALLY all about. The outing itself, the people we choose to share it with, and the things we see, hear and feel, that many people will never see in their life time.

OK ....enough "corniness" for one day, I know...now let's get back to busting chops, challenges, and always, learning!!!  ;)

I'm Feeling you same thing here the cruisers have started and Bruce is cussin em already ;D

There is a reservoir in town that I fish and gah it can be frustrating to see monster bass swim by and ignore every thing you throw at it...

This happens every spring around spawn time before and sometimes during...

I fish from shore and especially from this one area a few monster bass some of the biggest I have ever seen tease me as they slowly swim by and hang out around the bank staying in the shad of the thin layer of top water weed.

Awesome story, maybe you will catch one or at least one close to the size of bass you had seen.

I hate it when I see a few 8lb bass cruising around...

And then I get close enough to see they're carp.  DOH!

Yeah I once fished for a "spawner" for 10 minutes just to find out that it was a freakishly green clump of grass in 5 ft of water. :-[

If you ask me to my face though I will deny it!   ;D

But even Carp need some loving!!!! :D

ajr

Freakin carp swam by me today and I only had a spitin image, jerkbait, and a senko/

I have casted toward rocks and or their shadows but, a cast or two..

Cruising bass are great!

Those that do not bite my lure su**

I caught a cruiser when I was bank fishing one time. I think it must have been a hybrid because it said "P.T" on the side. I think it was in the parking lot just cruising though.

HMMMMMMM, I "wonder what that was"
