New HotMaps Explorer CE

Not sure where the Mods want this one; it's for your PC not your boat  ;)

the New HotMaps Explorer CE:  10,000+ lakes on one CD - can transfer way-points/routes to select fish finders, has 2D & 3D views - and you can print out your own maps - Only $20.00 (but the Fed-Ex shipping is a little high at $29.00) for a total of $48.99.  Still a good buy for the serious angler of folks that spend some time on the water.

I have that software. HD versions of some lakes are available for an additional cost. One HD map of your choice is free.

I would love to order the software, but I think I'll wait until the HotMaps people regain their sanity regarding the shipping charges.  Since the air mail charges are $11.00 less than the FedEx charges, I can only surmise that the product is being shipped from Japan.

To transfer Navionics maps from GPS to PC and vice versa I use "NavPlanner" software and a card reader.

I also use Garmin cartography and for uploading & downloading (waypoints & routes) I use MapSource software.

Although the accuracy of both chart-makers is similar, I was very surprised to learn

that Garmin maps are FAR more comprehensive and user-friendly than Navionics :-/
