DO I FISH FOR THE RITE OR WRONG REASON????

Featured Replies

I was eating lunch the other day with a few guy's. We started talking about fishing and I said how I've been focused on documenting Bass patterns and fish nothing else but *** and Brush Babys. Then I told them that a great friend of mine studdied a lake for the past 6 years by keeping a Log and will catch nice fish almost every day consistatly. He told me I am fishing for the wrong reason then. That fishing isn't about all that and I told him I hope one day to catch a 10lber. He said fishing is to get away from his wife lol. Thats also true but he is always talking about his boat so I said your not a fishermen your a boater. He also said no reason to spend alot of money on tackle because a $1.00 bait will do the same as a $5.00 I don't agree. Maybe in some situations is true like *** compared to GYCB but Cranks I doubt.

I love to be on a peaceful lake watching the fish strike my bait. I might not catch big fish yet but I charish every time I catch a bass. It about mother nature for me is this is wrong then take my tackle!!!!

No, your right on. If you don't find enjoyment of just being out there  then it becomes a job. I'm a firm believer in good things come in time...and a little luck. Like catching the lunker's.

There is no right or wrong reason to fish. You fish for whatever reason makes you happy... Period.

Each person has their own answer(s)...  for some it is truly an escape, for others it's the pursuit of a specific goal or fish.  My purpose is different from day to day... some days I just want to escape work and catch something and other days I'll go 10 hours looking for one big bite.  Most of the time it's somewhere in between.  To go one step further- there are days that I want to fish alone and others that I invite people.  I just like being on the water.

Every one fishes for their own personal reasons . It is not right to tell some one else that they are fishing for the wrong reason.

Don't pay attention to what other people say , you do it because it's how you feel.

You got it right Sharkbite, back on April 21st, Abelfisher started a thread on "why do you fish" then on the 24th I followed up with one "Why we should fish" and your comments are in line and very appropriate for someone who has a real interest and passion for fishing.

Big O

I can't understand how one individual can tell another one what, how, or why they should feel about something.  That just seems screwy to me.  It's okay to agree to disagree but we all have unique and sometimes shared reasons for things.  Personally, I like fishing on several levels but largely it's the puzzle I like to try to put together.  Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail miserably.  But whatever reason you like to fish is perfectly fine.

Different strokes for different folks

For me it's a challenge, relaxing, exciting, and most of all FUN. IF it wasn't, I probably wouldn't be so addicted to it:o)  IMO.

There is only one right reason to fish. Your own reason whatever it might be.

There is so much to love about it really. Like today while heading back to the boat ramp I had close to a full moon on one side of the boat and the sun setting on the other. The lake was like glass and not a cloud in the sky. That after a good days fishing is worth at least a year of good therapy lol.

Fishing is really wounderful. People fish in compitition, relaxation, and for the challenge etc. So It's great!

part of the enjoyment for me with bass fishing is trying to figure out what bait to use.  like yesterday my buddy and i were out, i was throwing a white spinnerbait and couldnt buy a bite.  he started throwing a chartruse one and caught two bass, so i switched to white/chartruse and i caught one.  the things like that are what i like.  but most of all it is being outside!!  what else would i be doing? sitting on my duff watching TV?  i love fishing and i dont understand how anyone could not!!
