I watch her jump and hope she does it again!

If you don't want the fish jumping, lowering

your reel might work, but reeling fast and

pulling the fish as it seems to be surfacing

works better.

I like Roadwarrior's tactic!  Although, this weekend on my very first cast I nailed one, and I felt that I was watching in slow motion as he raised his head, shook his mouth, and I watched the worm come flying out.

But, yeah, I generally just keep the fight on even when they jump.

When im out "fishing for fun" I let the bass show his a$ , but in tourneys i always lower my tip and reel fast as menntion above .. now onve he or she is in the livewell "jump away" lol .. i alot of cases depending upon where the strike take place you cant prevent the jump, atleast that first one .. But i have developed a technic that helps .. I saw it used one time when a guy was fishing for tarpon .. it's  called bowing to the fish , kinda of to detailed to explained but im sure there is a site about it somewhere on the web ..BBD 8-)

If its a tournament, I will stay low even put the rod tip into the water if I think she is going to jump.

If its a non tourney, I'll let them jump (unless it feels big) and enjoy it.

If you want to catch her , lower the tip and reel fast , if you like to see them jump , keep your tip up.

Let em jump! Especially smallies.

Try to keep pressure on the fish at all times with your rod.

Haven't lost too many jumpers.
