night time in the summer

Featured Replies

Last time I went night fishing the only place we caught fish was around brushpiles and docks in about 6-10' of water.

I night fish from April through October and find little difference between shallow vs deep; Shallow allows the chance of using a varity of lures.

Agree w/Catt, they're both good if you are in the right areas of each with the right bait presentations. And believe it or not, you can actually find a rather large fish or two scouring the shallows at night as well.

I like to fish shallow usually when I am night fishing. I love my topwater so that is mainly why I fish shallower water. Although when the bite isn't so great I have noticed that drop offs and ledges are still a good spot.  ;)

I went out night fishing the other night for the first time.. Actually started at 5 pm didnt plan to stay til 10 but we did... I wasnt prepared i had no lights or anything.  Boy was rigging your worms and what not hell!   What do you guys do for light during night fishing?

Just some helpful hints and techniques would be great thanks!

Black lights are always good. to have and for you just use your light on your boat. ;)

def shallow

a few days back I was out fishing at about 8:00. it had been raining all afternoon so feeding activities were much expected. I was fishing senkos along a bridge about 8yrds long, 5 - 7 ft deep. caught 5 in like 10 minutes and lost 9 on that side plus 3 more on the other side (was using the other rod, not much sensitivity so I missed almost all the hooksets)

Hey Crank Addict,

Try to check this site out. Read it and it will descibe it for you. But I like to use a black light so I can see the strike before it is too late. It is JMPO on this subject. But check this site out...
