Featured Replies

I'm pretty new to bass fishing. I wanna know what some of the stuff you guys are talking about is.

Whats a Senko? Is it a plastic worm sort of but looks like just the body?

And what is whacky style rigging? Hook it throuh the middle?

Thanks!

Spend some time in the BassResource.com Library,

specifically "Fishing Articles" and "Tacklebox" at the

top of the page. This will get you started:

Shaw24, what RW said.  I spend alot of time going through the articles because that type of fishing is new to me.  Study terminology and diagrams when there are any, then when you come back to the threads, it's alot easier to sit back and follow what everyone else is discussing.

Goodluck!

Thanks!!! Sorry for the noobness! I have been doing a lot of fly fishing lately. I usually only catch one or two smallmouth in the creek I fish, but last night I got about 10. I got a nice brown 2lb smallie too...it put up one hell of a fight.

Welcome aboard to the board.....

Hmmmm terminology definitions huh?

LOL = Largemouth on land

OMG = Oh my glasses (high dollar shades fall into water)

ROFL = Rapala on floor; lookout!

DD = double dipping (you and buddy grabbing lunch at mexican mexican restaurant and one of you dips half eaten chip in salsa)

PB = Puny bass. This refers to ANY fish caught by a competitor in a tournament.

Can't think of anymore right now; maybe some other guys here could help out.  :)

Delta, as in Delta Airlines - Don't Expect Your Luggage to Arrive!

Welcome aboard.

Yes, like any industry we have our own jargon.

Just read and go to seminars and watch DVDs.

But what I suggest you do is visit your nearest tackle store and LOOK AT THE BAITS.

Just walk around and see the different baits and what they are called.

And look at the hooks and swivels nad weights, too.

In other words, just walking up and down the aisles in your local tackle shop is a wonderful way to learn the baits, tackle, name brands, types, etc.

Have fun.  :)
