Bass teeth

Featured Replies

I've heard it time and time again: If the teeth are dull, the fish are eating crawfish. But if the teeth are sharp, they are feeding on soft fish like shad.

Is this true? It sure sounds right.

I'm guessing if you're in a position to feel a bass' teeth then you already know what they're feeding on; your lure (or what it's supposed to represent) ;)

J/K: Never heard that before.

The teeth have always been sharp on the fish in Lake X, but,..................it's loaded with craws, no shad.

You're a bad boy.  ;D

I have no clue but it does sound right! 8-)

That's the true sign of a good day of fishing.

Maybe this is because of my lack of knowledge, but I never heard of fish chewing on bait before. Ever. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

At my favorite pond I'm not sure exactly what the bass' main forage is, all I know is my thumb is chewed to pieces. LBH I feel your pain...literally ;)

Well it ain't from picking my nose....... ::)

You are right it is from picking your friend's nose!!!!

Lake "X" ????

its right next to lake y

Its already been said, but what the heck.

Bass don't chew there food.

This sounds like some old fishing lore.

I've never noticed bass teeth to be different from day to day.

The results of two consecutive days, two lakes, 107 bass, and trying to find out if sunscreen and insect repellant are a deterrent to catching bass-well they are not. One lake has no shad, the other does, and both have crawfish.

Now THAT is an awesome case of bassthumb right there!!!  I come home on leave in 2 weeks and can only hope that my hand will look like that!  Does anyone else sit and dream about the lake while they're at work, while rubbin their chewed up thumbs?  d**n I miss home!!!
