Deep bass...belly up.

Recommended Posts

I have caught some bass this summer in over 16' of water that go belly up as soon as they are put in the livewell. Rejuvinade doesn't help them out. My shallow fish do fine in the livewell. I was told my culprit was their "swim bladder"? "Coming up to fast screws them up and they don't have time to adjust their swim bladder." I know deep sea fishing I have actually seen the fish's swim bladder come out of their mouths like a bubble. But greenheads? If it is their "swim bladder," can I help deflate it? And would this harm them at all? I try to release all my bass. Advice? Hints? Tricks?
