Paca Craws - first time

Featured Replies

Thinking about taking a short break from cranks to try these, but after the search, I still don't have a solid idea on rigging them. I don't fish jigs, so won't be using as a trailer. I understand you can T-rig them, but they look a little big. I thought of picking up some baby paca's to use for smallmouths.

Any help appreciated.

I do use them as a jig tip but have T-Riggged them. Seem to work well T-Rigged flipping in weeds. Use a 1/8 oz weight they will hit on the fall. Also have worked well dragging an sandy small rock  bottom.

Baby Paca Craws are excellent jig trailers.

Full size Craws work great on the Evolution Shak-E2.

I use both the baby and the paca craw. I fish the baby on a T-rig a C rig and jigs as said before. The baby will catch both SM and LM.The Paca, I fish when flippin and pitchin and on a T-rig in deep water. The bass will eat the bigger paca on a T- and a C rig also, my biggest last year was a 7lb.4oz LM in 20 ft. of water. When you start fishing the baby and the paca you, will be hooked on them for good! :)

Take everyone's advice. The paca craw can be fished efficiently on the shake2 jig head.

The do make great trailers but can sometimes be fished alone. Good luck.

It's funny I've fished jigs but never cranks, haha.

what size hooks do you guys use for they baby craws and the tiny craws. i was thinking of using a 3/0 ewg on the baby and a 2/0 on the tiny craw but they both looks too big? so what size hook and for the paca craw what size weight do u use on the e2 jig?

I generally use a Gammy G-Lock hook for Baby Paca's and Tubes.  It says it's a 5/0, but it is very short...about the length of a 3/0 with a HUGE gap.

awesome ill try those gammys
