Thats right fellas; Mauch Chunk lake is home to many 2.8 lb fish, sorry no pics available or I won't be able to get rid of Burley for a whole summer

Muddy, those 2.8's are too big for Burley. Now if you said Mauch Chunk is home to twenty-eight 1 lb. fish, he'd be there in a heartbeat.  ;D

Hey, I've seen that picture on the web! Muddy and his 2.8lb bass from Mauch Chunk! (Didn't look like a 2.8 to me though).

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

My guess is the BR member posting about the 28 believed it himself, and wasn't trying to BS anybody. My guess is it was the photo of 12# fish (in Bob Lusk's article about that lake) or another of similar size that got around, and rumors flew.
