Met KVD Himself yesterday!

Featured Replies

Yesterday at the Detroit Fishing Show I had the unbelievable opportunity to meet Mr. Bass Himself, KVD! I watched both his seminar segments on Lake Ultimate and loved them both and then saw him walking around after. I shook his hand and thanked him for his contributions to the sport, other than that I was completely speechless. I took this pic with him....

I know he reads this site so Thank You Mr. Van Dam!

Congrats man I have always wanted to meet him, I will try to at the Classic but I know he will be busy and be getting mobbed so I doubt I approach him there.

That is pretty cool.

Man you are tall.

That' what I was thinkin'!

KVD is a great person as well as a great angler. Met him a few years ago at a seminar. Spent 1/2 hr talking to him about Lake Erie. Very down to earth and polite.

Congrats. Glad you had that great opportunity.

You are definitely tall!

I'm hoping to meet him in Richmond next weekend!

Man you are tall.

LOL!!!  For some reason that was the first thing I noticed, even before KVD.

I'm not doggin you XcoM274, i'm 6'6" so I feel your pain.

It's always pretty cool to meet fishing celebs.  Last year at the local sports expo, I was able to meet Gary Dobyns, Skeet Reese, Greg Guiterez (SP), Dee Thomas, and Bub Tosh.  It was pretty cool because I was able to ask them questions and interact with them.  Bub Tosh is a pretty good swimbait stick so I picked his brain for awhile.  It's amazing how down to earth these guys are.

I met him at one of the old Bassmaster University presentations in Richmond.

What a gentleman and professiional guy.

Now, DON'T WASH YOUR HAND.

The one that you used to shake his hand.

DON'T WASH IT FOR AT LEAST A YEAR.  ;D   ;D   ;D

Man you are tall.

No doubt,....God designed you for flippin' and pitchin',....

That is cool, I'm hoping to meet him in Richmond as well.

Thats awesome man

Awesome, nice that you had the chance to meet a true icon of our sport. an by the way anyone else notice just how short KVD is  :o

memo

I meet KVD about 8 or 9 years ago at the KC sports show. This was durring the hight of the mojo rig craze. Kevin refered to it in his seminar as the "**** rig" cause he didn't like it! True Story......

This year at the show I meet Alton Jones

both were nice guys. :)

I thought KVD was over 6' tall to begin with.  I just think XcoM274 is very tall.  Awesome experience meeting "The Man" I bet!

Along with flipping & pitching, you were also designed for Sight fishing as well!!! Good call Low Budget!   ;D

You need to send this pic to all D-1 schools you wish to attend. Scholarships should be in the mail soon.

KVD is a really nice guy.  I met him at a Bassmaster University and a couple times at the Elite at Oneida Lake.   Although it was hard to get to him at the tourney because Zona was always up his "you know what!" ;D

Lol indeed I am 6'8" he was just a couple inches shy. Much taller than I expected him to be. I'm actually not too good at flippin I'm going to be concentrating on it this year. I do have a pretty wicked longarm though...

Great stuff and I'm also glad he is a gentleman despite all the fame.  My son must be one of the biggest KVD fans EVER!! His name is Cameron and even calls himself Cam van Dam.  Come on Kevin baby, come and visit sunny South Africa....PLEASE!!!
