  1. I grew up about 10 minutes from here. It is very much fishable from the bank when the scouts are not there during the summer. The hours for fishing are M-F 8:30-3:30. You can only fish the dam area of the lake though. I've been lucky enough that the camp director is a great friend of my dad so I've had a lot of access to this lake. It is FULL of HUGE bass. The best I've pulled out of it is just over 8lbs but I've got several this size. Dad got a 13lber out of there several years ago. I've saw a couple of 10+ pounders pulled from the dam area also. I don't mind telling people about the lake since it has such little access and I rarely get to fish it anymore. If you get a chance to fish it do so. You can also access a small area of the upper end of the lake using a hunter access trail. Locals have trashed this area so don't expect a nice area to fish.
  2. It's nice to see an interview that doesn't dwell on just the tourney he's fishing or whatever. I like to see the "real" side of the pros.
  3. I always use Half.com. By the time you resell them when you are done you don't end up paying very much for them. I've got 10 books listed on half.com right now. If you need any check out trustgrrl4328 and buy from there. hint hint
  4. When you get to trucks of that age there is no real set price. The set price is an agreement between what you and the buying party thinks it's worth. Chances are it's gonna but sub $1000 for 2wd and sub $3000 for 4wd.
  5. If it's any consolation, I'm very happy here. I've been to a few very tasteless forums and I have to say I enjoy being able to open pretty much any thread with my 5 year old daughter looking over my shoulder. I say great job!!!
  6. I'll take the trip with KVD. My 4 y/o daughter thinks Taylor is like God and she would kill me if she couldn't go.

Left hand side of log near the shady area. His tail is pointed toward the camera. (most people center the subject of the photo so I just looked close there)
  8. Add a can of cream of celery soup to this and you've got it perfect!
  9. Mine is a little different but I love the stuff. White rice Beef chunks cooked in a little olive oil in a pan A-1 steak sauce mix it up with a little salt and pepper and you are good to go.
  10. An AAS in business will get you a little further than the average joe but nothing to sneeze at. My wife finished with an AAS in business and an AAS in accounting last year and with several years experience in the field she is making pretty good money for our area. She is now about halfway through a BS in business and plans on getting her MBA. Even at this point in her college her work has already sat down with her and discussed management positions. She works in IS in our local credit union and the BS is the only way the good, high paying jobs will come. Someone mentioned 55,000 as a rate of pay for the AAS. If you make that much in my area with an AAS you have some MAJOR connections. What I'm saying is that the pay will be subject to the local pay rates in your area so don't be discouraged by what you may make. Also remember that it takes time so don't get discouraged. BTW, go for the degree!!!! My wife talked me into going to college and I'm almost finished with my AAS in Administration of Justice and I'm having the time of my life doing it!
  11. It's tough for the rankings to be very accurate this early in the season. I still haven't saw where Fla. has been super impressive enough to be no. 1. At this point I think 1st belongs to Bama. with Fla. second. As a VT fan I'm really suprised they jumped as much as they did this week. I'm hoping and believe there is a good chance they will win the rest of their games. If they do you big bad SEC boys better be ready to face the ACC in the National Championship!
  12. I've listened to Shinedown a bit and they seem to be very good. In all honesty, the TOADM cd is the first rock cd I've bought in about 3 years. I love to listen to it but I always have my two kids in the vehicle with me or my wife and I don't want them to hear a lot of the stuff that some of the harder bands say. This is one reason we LOVE Daughtry. His music is very clean and his talent just seems to be amazing.
  13. I've looked at quite a few youtube videos of each and Cavo seems to be the one I'd least like. TOADM sounds quite awesome. I couldn't stand it and just ran out and bought a copy of their new album. From what I heard on the way home it sounds great!
  14. My wife and I are going to see Daughtry for the first time. His opening acts are Cuvo?? and Theory of a Deadman. I've heard some music from TOAD but just wondering how they are live. I love rock and listen to things like Godsmack, etc. but my wife only like the easier rock such as Daughtry, Nickleback, etc. She's worried she'll only like the Daughtry portion of the show. Any of you been to their concerts???
  15. Go Hokies! They have another big game next week so hopefully this will keep them on a roll.
  16. Nice fish but I gotta say at 20" that thing looks like it should be hitting at least 5 1/2lbs but more like 6. Love the color of it too.
  17. Yes. I can't remember the name of it though. It's just past where 168 and 168 expressway converge. If you pass over the railroad tracks you just missed it. You'll see one of those big fishing lure mailboxes at the entrance to it.
  18. Head down to the Northwest River. I visit family several times a year down there and that's where we do a lot of our fishing. I had one of the best days ever on there back in June. Edit: It's off Rte. 168 just a couple miles from the NC border.
  19. If you are anything like me I can't stand when I don't have classes. I get bored way too easily. I'm tickled that mine started yesterday.
  20. The lake I fish all my tourneys on is Lake Anna. There are about 4 guys that are locals and are always in the money. It sucks sometimes when they are all in the money and everyone else is outside. It makes up for all these bad feelings when I finish above them and in the money though. It really makes me feel like I accomplished something!
  21. A bass with a belly like that and you are gonna have some monsters here in a few years!!!
  22. Thanks! (insert sarcasm here) :
  23. I am planning on vacationing with the family in Pittsburg on Labor Day weekend. We are hoping to visit the childrens museam and the Carnegie museums. First off, how are these museums? I've got a 4 y/o and 18 month old to entertain. Also, any areas near hear that I want to avoid, ie. mugged, shot, etc. etc.? Don't laugh, I'm a country bumpkin and rarely go to big cities.
  24. He has been sentenced and served his time. Not to mention he has lost pretty much everything he has ever accumulated. He has paid his debt to society and is trying to do above and beyond his sentence by speaking out for organizations about how bad the things he did were. I'm sure he could sell his story to someone to write a book about and live pretty comfortable the rest of his life but he isn't. He's trying to be proactive and live life as good as he can. I can't imagine the humiliation of having to live the rest of his life being heckled in the public eye. I hope he does good and has truly changed his ways. I can't wait to see him on the field again either.
