On cranks: direct tie or snap

On hooks: direct tie

On Topwater cranks: direct tie

On spinnerbaits: direct tie

On in-line spinners: snap/swivel combination

tie direct!

i just bought a pack of speed clips to try. normally i tie directly but i noticed i was going through alot of line retying(palomar). i use alot of braid and am not interested in wasted time and money. i do use snap and swivel for cranks and inlines. the only prob is they like to grab the front treble on the cast. hopefully the speed clip will remedy that.

Sampo Duolock snaps for cranks.

Speedclips good alternative but I like the black snaps.

JMHO.

Speed clip should take care of this.  I dont have any problems with the hooks catching.

If you are consistently hanging your front treble hook on the line or snap then you might consider replacing the hook with the next size smaller.
