Larger Worms for Shakey Head?
its amazing how many folks actually read your questions before they tell you what you need! i have been looking for a Floating worm for awhile and they difficult to find. from what i have found roboworm, strike king, powerbait shakey and gambler are your main choices. beyond their selection the japanese have some cool ones, they arent the size you are after but i did see a very big one that floats just cant remember the name, try google. if you really need them big, i would try a custom worm from a smaller company. you never know you could be onto something. ;D

OHIO WHO'S WHO
my name is nick, i am in northwest ohio(defiance). there aren't many lakes around here so i usually go to indiana and hit the chain o'lakes. lots of ponds around here and one tiny lake(oxbow). i fish from a 03 nitro when i can find the time!

catalyst pt baitcaster...
just picked one up at basspro for 70 bucks! i was turned off of baitcasters after a bad go with a blackmax. i was then told i needed to spend a little more to get quality and i would have a better time. well i went in to buy another spinning reel and walked out with this. anyone use one? i just got it spooled up but have not cast it yet.

JERKBAITS!!!!
just get some x-raps! they wont kill your wallet cuz you only need a couple colors and you are set! i use the green backs and black backed ones. these two produce more for me than any other jerkbait i have. ;D

Ebay is Awesome!
i agree with thad. do a little homework, feedback, etc...ebay is sweet if you can use it properly. the best deal i ever got was 12 lucky crafts for $20. they werent even listed as lucky craft. the title just said fishing lures. ;D

carrot stix, where art thou?
i talked to eric directly and had my 701med in 3 days with just a phone call! maybe you should go up the ladder. i called e21golf and talked to the warranty mgr. himself. great communication and great response. not trying to rub this in, but i never settle for joe secretary. give me the guy that makes it happen! hope this helps!

carrot stix suck
the funny thing is...for every one person that bashes carrots, their are 10 that love them! as far as durability, i bang my stix around from vehicle to boat to cabin to the house with zero issues! the guides dont say fuji(nike, bmw, gucci, insert overpriced name here) but for some reason i have never heard anything bad, just that they are cheesy. doesnt st.croix have fuji? oh yeah the ones that fall out. does st.croix suck? i stepped on one of my stix and had it replaced with a phone call in 3 days! opinions are like... i'm not sayin, i'm just sayin... viva la stix!

ebay strikes again!!! i love it!
boy if they are knock offs they got every detail spot on. i compared them to a few of my buddies and the best i can tell they are the real deal. even if they were knockoffs, 20 bucks is 20 bucks. i'd blow that on one lure.

ebay strikes again!!! i love it!
i was the only bidder. they had 2 other auctions just like it with pointers and cranks! i was after the sammies but now wish i woulda bid on them all!!!

ebay strikes again!!! i love it!
someone didnt know what they had! just picked up 12 lucky crafts for $20.00! they didnt even have them listed as lucky craft! the pics told a different story as i saw sammy written on the bottom of a few. upon further investigation(colors,sizes,etc...) i realized they were all lucky craft. 5 sammy, 3 gunfish, 2 g-splash, 1 waketail, 1 splashtail all in different sizes! they arrived today and none of them have been fished! woohoo! it pays to do your homework!

Braid on Topwaters
i have used both and there is a difference but not that much. if you were catching $100,000 fish(bassmasters) it might be worth the advantage of mono. fish what you have or are comfortable with.

Quantum tour edition PTi-A VS energy PTi-A
i have both and believe it or not, there is a difference! mine are 20 and 30 sizes. i dont have any 10 size but the difference between the bigger ones is noticeable. my opinion is get the tour and you will never wonder what if. there is a reason the tours started out at $279.00! i would gladly trade my energy for a tour! the new pti-b's are awesome too. i just bought a catalyst20 and its crazy nice! on par with pti-a tours and its only got 8 bearings. so its not all in the bearings. hope this helps

Braided line
i use spinning gear 90% i used 30#powerpro 100% of the time last year with 0 problems whatsoever!!! if visibility is a prob use a flouro leader. braid is the way to go! i am however going to try co-poly this year. just to see if it is all it is cracked up to be.

Carrot Stix warranty
i too had one break through the mail and the one i wanted was backordered. instead of using that store i emailed e21 directly and had a new rod in 5 days. sean@e21fishing.com is who i dealt with. great guy, i told him my story and he said no prob just email me a pic of broken rod, action and power section. great experience. i now own 2 with more to come as soon as the wife says.

zoom trick worm, berkley 10" powerbait worm
i too fish from a few banks and the trick worm is one of my go-tos. and yes it does float. i wanted to see the shakey action before i threw it, so i rigged it and put it in a bucket. it stood on the bottom, tail "floating" to the top. try this with a senko and you will see the difference. the senko will weigh down the jig and lay on the bottom. you tube has an excellent demonstration. just type in zoom trick worm.

Dilemma. Need advice
i had the same deal as you...i settled on the tru-tung. i havent fished it yet but am very anxious to do so. i am a little scared to lose it though! goes with the territory of $20 baits.

Drinking and fishing ???
folks who have a problem will continue to have that problem no matter what they are doing! there is a time and place for everything, big lake=big rules(dnr,etc...)too much hassle. small lake=small rules. you get the pic. my lake is 90 acres, there is usually a beer or two onboard but thats it. anymore and trouble seems to find its way onboard too. i would much rather a lake full of left handers than drunks! at least it will be funny when you fall in!

Kentucky in the Northeast???
i coulda swore ky was below the mason-dixon. but then again i dont think ohio belongs in the northeast either.

Shimano Stradic or Quantum Catalyst
i have the new catalyst and last years energy. i have to say hands down the new catalyst pti-b is alot nicer than last years energy pti-a. i intially bought the catalyst to back up my tour and energy, but it has won its place above the energy. very nice reel and great new color! i actually tried to buy the new abu soron but they were sold out and i went home with the catalyst. before you decide, go and play with a soron! they are way cool and out of stock everywhere i go. maybe that means something! anyway catalyst gets my vote.

What does everyone think about the Carrot stixs?
the tours, the energys and the new catalyst all look great! i have had mine since they first hit the market(the orange ones). i guess the color all depends on personality. alot of older gentleman(old school) dont like the color but i have yet to meet someone of my generation that thinks they aren't at least neat lookin. change is good and why shouldnt we have some diversity?! viva la stix!

whats your two favorite shakey head worms?
i was in your boat a few weeks ago when bps had their spring sale. i had never tried a trick worm. so i got some and a pack of powerbait shakey worms. i couldnt be happier. trick worms are great and 20 to a pack! havent tried the powerbait yet. i like the trick worm too much right now.

OK .... I think I am pretty much done with flourocarbon lines!!!!
i hear you loud and clear...i too went through the different brands and still hate it. i am trying the co-poloymer this year because of several suggestions. however the rest will be braid with a flouro leader(when needed)and good ol'mono! i am in love with braid! i dont think there is anything you cannot do with braid and a leader besides topwater. just my 2cents.
-
Are aesthetics important to you?
kinda sorta...it seems these carrot stix got everyone turned into fashionistas.haha. i too am guilty to an extent. i am just lucky my energy, tour, and the new(orange)catalyst all look dead sexy on the stix. i never paid any attention to matching or appearance until the stix! ce la vie...

What Carrot Stick for senkos?
i use a 7'3" mh. i use all spinning gear so the model number might not do any good. i tried the 7' med. but didnt like it for worms. great for cranks though. i use those 2 as my primary rods with a couple oddballs for specialty stuff.
