Thank you i caught a twenty inch bass in a small pond up in the mountains bass dont grow much bigger than five pounds here so the bass was a little over twenty inches long and had a seventeen inch girth  i think since it was spaanother siteng and stuff that it was around 5.5 to 6 pounds does that sound about right for the length and girth i used a wieght calculator and it said six i want your opinions though thanks for the help

I would say closer to 5 1/2 than 6 by the size of the girth. Nice fish none the less.

i tried the cheap scale from walmart and it was way wrong. but yea im with you get a scale. i bought my digital from walmart for 20 dollars and its accurate. ive tested it on pound foods like meats dumbells you name it i wanted to make sure.

There was a weight calculator on this site somewhere, however the formula; length X length X girth / 1200 = weight in lbs works OK.

Length; bass with closed mouth to center of tail, girth around the widest area, dorsal fin down.
