#2. Is this basically the biggest theyll get in my area? (Basead on the fact that I've caught three within 1/2" of each other, and can't get one bigger)

As for question #2, I'm still learnin bout bronzebacks, after finally havin found a lake with 'em pretty close to me, so please excuse the noobness. :-[ :-[

I don't know where you live, but the Great Lakes region

produces some 7's and I think one of the states boasts a

9-4 state record. More typically, 4-6 is a good range.

In the Mid South, the smallmouth can get much bigger.

I'm about two hours ( I think) south from Lake Erie. Don't go up there much >:( I fish West Branch lake (Micheal J. Kirwan Resivoir), Berlin, and Lake Milton, if these names mean anything to you guys. Columbiana county.

Cleveland Rocks?

20" is probably going to be the "big fish" size around there.  There is probably bigger in the lakes you fish.  A trip to Erie might yield something bigger.  There are also a pile of rivers in that state that hold excellent smallmouth fishing.  Are you after trophies?  Then fish trophy water.  Are out to master your craft?  Then go and catch the biggest fish out of your lake that you've heard of.  Are you out for numbers?  Start hitting new waters, and exploit the rivers.
