This will be my first year tossing swimbaits, it's the one area I have not really messed with that much.

Most of what I read says that swimbaits are most effective in clear water. What about dirty water? Most of the lakes I fish have visibility around 2 feet or less. Is a swimbait a viable technique for that visibility?

Oh, they will work.

Depending on what you are throwing, they displace quite a bit of water.  Bass will eat them.  Keep throwing with confidence and you will hook up.

They will work, but I probably wouldn't throw a bait like a hudd in 2ft or less visibility due to the slight movemembt it makes.  I might throw something that displaces more water and is more noisy.  But swimbaits are good in just about any water clarity

Depends, I wouldn 't throw a Hudd for two feet visbility, but something like Fish Arrow Monster Jack ---> shure !, the clacking sound that thing makes can be heard 20 yards away.

I throw hudds in 2 ft vis all the time.

also try the lunker punkers (injection molded ones)
