Glenn, how do the google ads work?Do they filter their ads for malware and was this recent malware-linked ad a freak occurrence that somehow got through? I'm just a little skeptical about clicking on any random ads right now.

Good question.  The problem we had was NOT attributed to the Google ads, or any other ads that are currently running on the site.

I was trying out another ad system, similar to Google ads, which is where the problem came from.  They were running for only a few hours between the time they were launched to when I took them down.

It's really surprise this happened, since I was assured there were no such issues with that system.  Oh well.  I won't do that again!

Google, on the other hand, is very very good about filtering out malicious ads.  I haven't had a problem with them at all on this site, nor have I heard of anyone else having issues.  So you can rest assured there won't be any problems from this site moving forward.

I have never clicked any of the side banners, but have clicked the top (Cabelas, ***, etc.) many times without any problems. It must have just been that one ad.

Does the site receive anything for clicking the banners? Other than the small amount that it says you get from BPS and Cabelas?

I'm not certain I know what you mean, since all the sponsors have banner ads.  Of those, Line & Lure, BTS, Catch & Release, and RageTail have decals available.
