i fish a big lime rock pitt in fla with alot of fishing pressure i fish every lure i have.i catch little bass ijust cant catch luckers. got any tips also how do u catch tilapia when on the bed i have no clue

I fish tilapia frequently. My go to lure is 1/16oz white  panther martin spinner.

try to fish faster in clear water, sometimes it can help, for tilapia, Ive caught them with a bare #3 bass hook , i threw the hook to the bed, the fish would run off but come back a few minutes later, then pick the hook up with its mouth to move it off the bed, then set hook.

Natural colored or even clear plastics. Senkos, tubes, grubs, centipedes and fluke style soft jerks. A clear zara spook could also work, as can naturally colored topwaters in low light conditions. Keep trying live shad or other live minnows with minimal terminal tackle.

Cast it close to the shore and reel it back in the slowest speed possible. Rooster tail vibric is very good too. When the tilapias are eating cicadas, headon tiny torpedo (crome or black) is very good; however you need to tune it. Take the original tremble hooks off, and replace then for # 8 using 1 split ring in the front and 2 in the back. Cast it to the shore and fish if almost still, using the rod tip to move it (you need to make it look like a bug on the surface). You may need to adjust the propeller to make it spin better. The advantage of using the tiny torpedo is that you catch bigger fish.

thanks 4 the advice i got a roostertail 1/16 and 1/8.i tryed them both yesterday but no luck cause there beds are so close together they want stop fighting long anuff to see it. thats a nice one u got there i wish u could these one here they all are arould 16'' long and petty fat :)ill post a pic of one if i catch one

I have never tried to catch them on beds, however the best time to catch them is late spring to early fall. Let me know if you have any luck.

You can catch bedding tilapia by annoying them with your lure, those tiny tubes ( squirth ) rigged on a 1/32 oz jighead are excellent for that purpose, if you can see the bed you drop the bait and wait for the fish to come and try removing the bait from the nest, as soon as you can detect the fish lifting the bait you set the hook.

Tilapia also love tortilla, a small hook, a pencil bobber and a small piece of tortilla as bait usually catches you a truckload, the art is in setting the hook right at the moment you detect the bite, because tortilla is brittle the fish can rip it from the hook really fast, excellent excersize for honing your hook setting skils too.

yea it the fun of fooling them to bite netting them in that case id just go to walmart and buy them already cleaned ;D
