Pre or post spawn?

Featured Replies

Was just wondering witch time you guys prefer and why?

What technique or presentation do you use the most?

I like post because they seem to bite the baits I like to fish the most (cranks and tubes).Just my opinion. :D

my lake is funny, stays very cold, then all of a sudden kinda warms up.  It's on top of a mountain, so the water is cold.  Within just a few days it went from cold, innactive fish, to warm water and bedding fish.  Most people in jersey were in their boat while I was still on the ice to give you an idea.  So with that in mind, I love the post spawn lol.

Pre-spawn, because both sexes get very aggressive and very food-oriented during what we call the pre-spawn stage. They come out of the cold winter and the water warms up and their metabolism kicks in.

I like pre spawn. THe fish are bigger and I like to use things like grubs and spinner baits in cold water.

Must be a trick question. Pre spawn bass, both larger females and smaller males are very aggressive and feeding prior to the spawn and post spawn females are trying to recover from spawning, only the smaller male bass are aggressive during post spawn.

What may confuse some anglers is the fact that not all bass spawn at the same time and not all females spawn all their eggs on one nest. The female may spawn several times to release all the mature eggs over a few week period, then go into post spawn period.

Spawn.  Pick your quarry.  Bubba shot plastics, jigs, t-rig creatures with huge pegged weights, and Senkos.
