ESPN Pulling out of BASS

Featured Replies

I heard that ESPN was going to be dropping BASS from its coverage!  I heard that it might go to the Versus channel!

I heard that they are also canceling alot of good shows such as the "worlds greatest fishing show!

Is this true!  I heard that alot of the fisherman are looseing their sponsorships because tobacco products can no longer be advertised (Chew/Snuff).

I will be very sad of this is true and thought that BASS was really starting to get a following.  Anybody else heard this stuff!  Or, is my info false?

Kinda old news there Skeety.  Your info is true.  ESPN is dropping all the fishing shows with the exception of the Elite Series.  Zona's "World's Greatest Fishing Show" has been picked up by the Outdoor Channel and will be renamed "Zona's Awesome Fishing Show".

You're also correct about losing tobacco sponsors.  I think it was Jeff Kriet that was sponsored by Longhorn and after this season it's down the tubes. :P

Welcome to the month of May, skeety!  ;D

On the plus side maybe it means no more Charlie Moore.

Ive only caught that show a couple of times and cant say I can really stomach it.

Locally theres a show on FSN(Fox Sports Network) called "Fishing with Johnny Johnson". Show is ok,but the laugh of this guy is as bad as,if not worse than Jimmy Houstons.

The Most annoying laugh at 12:53. I know the guy is excited but C'MON!!!

Wow.  I mean Jimmy Houston has one annoying laugh, that dudes is just ridiculous.  Reminds me of some of the horses I dealt with when I was in the Army.

I've seen the show a few times and I have never seen a guy so excited over a 1lb bass.  Also, his laugh is very annoying.

thank god!!

hahahahahahaah omg that laugh cracked me up  ;D

Also, its going to be nice to catch Zona on Friday nights.

I will never understand why ESPN aired all their fishing shows when their general audience is out fishing.
