Add Bing Maps to the list.  I've found that the birds eye view has fantastic detail.

I justed checked out the Bing birds eye view.  That is absolutely amazing.  It is so clear.  You must look at it.

Bing is the best by far.  It has helped me find stump rows and chunk rock.

IMO a 1/2 day with a good guide on your first day to mark GPS points is well worth the expense.  Makes a strange body of water much friendlier, especially if you are going to be there several days.
