New guy from Iowa

Featured Replies

Helloooo! I've been lurking around these forums for about a week or so. Thought that I would take the time to write up a little something to introduce myself.

I just turned 19 about a week ago. I pretty much live in Waverly/Waterloo Iowa if anyone here from Iowa knows where that is. Mostly have been catfishing most of my life but this past year I started to do a lot of bass/pike fishing. I'm reealllllyyy starting to get the fishing bug so I have been looking around here for some tips  :) Love the site and looking forward to sharing some fishin stories!

Hey Jake,

Welcome to the forum. Wonderful you have decided to join us.

Just ask your questions and the gang will do their best to give you a direct answer.

I visited Iowa (Iowa State University) on behalf of LSU and I must admit, it was the first time that I could look at a hog face to face while standing up.

Man, do you all have big pigs and hogs in Iowa.

And the farm's fields.  Flat, green and beautiful.

You have a beautiful state and we expect to see some of it in the pictures of your catches you post.  ;)

 Welcome Jake.

I'm from the middle of Illinois now but used to be fromthe QC's

I've visited a bunch of places in Iowa but never Waterloo.

Like Sam said pretty state. Played flag football with one of the Rubley brothers in fact. You might be too young to remember them though! lol

Born and bread Illini fan so those Hawkeyes are another conversation! lol

Hey jake,

Definatley know where waterloo/waverly is. Been to shell rock many times as a kid. Welcome to the forum and nice to have another hawkeye.

Welcome to the community!  :)

Welcome to the site Jake!

I'm originally from Waverly and went to college in Waterloo and now live in Cedar Rapids. My folks still live in Wav and I know a lot of people there.

If you ever want to wet a line let me know. Or if you have any questions on places to bass fish in the area I can probably assist!

Dave
