3/8 oz jig fall rate vs 1/2 oz jig?

does anyone know what the difference in fall rates would be on the same jig that is just a 3/8 vs 1/2 oz . and made out of a  lead jig head. just curious. im sure it is not significant . thank

It is widely accepted that a ¼ oz falls at approximately 1 foot per second; exact number I don't know :D

There are a lot more variables than jig weight to consider in the fall rate like: line diameter and material, head shape, trailer shape, trailer size, amount of skirting material, etc.

Your best bet would be to get the depth of water figured out and make casts with both and count them down.

Everything else the same, 3/8 will fall slower.  :D :D
