DUDE!

That's a beauty. The perfect example of why we call them footballs. Man, that is one heck of a smallmouth.

Speedy has been guiding three and four days a week, spent a week in the Gulf marlin fishing and is on his way to Cabo San Lucas next week. Sounds good, hun? We usually fish for striper this time of year, but TVA has not been releasing any water on the weekends when I can fish. The region's rainfall is 12" below normal and the drought continues.

I'm headed over to Bull Shoals next week for three days, so maybe I can find a hungry Arkansas smallie. We'll see.

I consider myself lucky to be able drive 2 hours

and tie into those bombers pretty regular.

not too much skill involved, they are pretty aggressive

just dont horse them and have a good net man :)

I live about 30 mins from Port clinton but have never tried fishing for smallies there. Only Perch and Walleye i dont know where to start fishing or what to use.BTW that smallie is beautiful

early spring focus around 30 foot of water

look for fish on the screen drop offs rock piles ect

use silver buddies, flourocarbon line 6 or 8 pound

and start jigging

you will know when you have one:)

late spring focus on shallower water 15 to 25 feet same kind of structure

silver buddys still work but tubes work better

also jerk baits from what i hear

hope that helps

Nice! I fished the exact area where you are in your pic yesterday, just a little shallower, many fish on beds in 6-12 fow. Bite was a little slow on the main lake but the bay was on fire, both smallmouth and largemouth.

Dang adn I can't even catch a largie that big :) Nice work, where abouts on the lake were you (general area?) What were you catching them on?

We launched at the presque isle bay and ran to the right out of the bay around 7 miles

I caught that one on a green micro munch tube
