asny tips for fishing Erie in may? I'm going out of buffalo harbor...Tubes? how far? how deep? ;D

Find transitions mud/rock/sand. Start in 40+ feet drift your tubes into 8-10 feet when you find fish concentate on whatever they were relating to. Maybe a specific rockpile, shoal or depth. when you find 1 smallie at Erie you will find more. Many more!

Thanx!! That's a great start!!Hopefully I won't be wandering around all day!!!

when you find fish mark them with your gps so you an stay on that spot or make multiple drifts over that spot. don't overcomplicate things either drifting is like bank fishing for catfish kinda. make sure you have a drift sock. make sure your bait stays in contact with the bottom.

silver buddy's

flouro line or yo zori hybrid

jig up like your setting the hook and let it flutter back to the bottom

i am hoping to hit it this sunday

I sure will , hopefully with some pics

Welcome aboard!

8-)

If you can find some pick up a pack of Venom or Zoom Tubes in watermellon/candy color. I use these all year on Erie, Detroit River, St Clair River. They work everywhere for me. Also find some goby baits, always a good choice

well the wave report wasnt looking good so we bagged it for today.

maybe next week.

Thanx for the tips!!! just got back from myrtle beach....wasted some time on one of those piers....small blues....nothing greta!!pumped up for May in New york!!

we hit the bay today, the largemouth are putting on the feed bag. we caught plenty and saw everyone reeling in fish everywhere.

went to the main lake looking for the big smallmouth but no dice so we went back to the bay and caught the largies.

tubes and raps worked well.

simply amazing fishery!!!!
