Lac St. Francis

Featured Replies

Lake St. Francis (the St. Lawrence River between Cornwall and Montreal) is becoming one of the hottest smallie destinations around in Eastern Canada.

It's getting so that 5 fish bags under 26 lbs finish out of the money.

This weekend a new record was set a 30.35 lb bag with a 7.15 lb lunker was weighed in to win a friendly tournament.

I don't care what anyone says, that's an incredible weight for 5 smallies.

Geez...

Anyone that's ever fished for smallmouth realize

that 30.35 is HUGE!

8-)

Wow!!! I would LOVE to catch a 5 lb. smallie.

How about five 6 pounders!?

That is insane. I cannot imagine culling almost 6lb smallmouth. I have fished some of the best smallmouth waters in North America over the last 10 years and about 26lbs is the best day I have ever had for 5 fish. 30 lbs is just awesome.

The 30.35 lb. limit was anchored by a 7.15 lb. lunker.  That means their other 4 smallmouth AVERAGED about 5 pounds  13 ounces.

Simply amazing.

I wanna go! PLEASE!!!!  :D A few years back I fished the St. Lawrence in the Thousand Islands section for a week. Fabulous smallie fishing and largemouths too. Nothing to compare to those fish though!

WOW thats amazing!! According to Google Maps it's a little over 6hours away from me.

The tourney trails are catching up on this too as several series are making a point to visit...some even twice.

Not only is this a great smallie fishery, but you can also put a 25lb bag of largies in the boat on a good day.
