Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver

Recommended Posts

I just bought 3 of these baits for $5 each.  Are they worth it?  I didn't realize how expensive they were going to be.  If nothing else, I enjoyed the RI website for its comedic value.

RI makes good baits for sure... but once I switched over to ***, I never went back. ***'s version is a little different texture but the fish can't seem to tell much difference. And you can buy 25 ct. bags from *** so when you find colors you like, you can save in bulk.

Couldnt agree more, just wish he had a color close to the "Big Texan" color, by far my productive color on my home lake.

The baits work, Period. They are a little fragile, but I'm going to try picking up some of that worm glue everyone is talking about.  I can usually get 2-4 fish on one beaver without the glue, so I think the price is fair.  My favorite color is Roadkill.

Are they worth it?

Only you can decide that. Setting aside any comparisons with other products, Sweet Beavers are an excellent bait. You've already bought them and you can use them with confidence.

I got my shipment today, and I was pleasantly surprised that the price was $5 for a pack of 10 and not $5 each.  Reaction Innovations should really be more specific, because I almost didn't make the purchase.  The strange thing is, the price on the tubes specifically says "9 count"

Please e-mail them. We need to provide more feedback to companies, whether it's about their products, practices or sites.

*** beaver is the exact same mold if I am not mistaken. Caught my pb on one earlier this year. I did just pick up a pack of reaction innovations though because I only needed a few and couldn't convince myself to put in a big order to Brent.

Once you find a color you like, I would highly recommend a 25pk from ***.Also, keep the "pinchers" together, they seem to last longer and I haven't noticed a difference in getting bit. Try it both ways and see if it's the same for you.

They are great on a shakey head!

good baits! They dont hold up very well after setting the hook a couple times.  But as long as I'm putting fish in the boat, I'm not complaining. Worth the price. IMO.

I used them for the first time this morning.  I caught 4 bass and an 8 pound carp with the sweet beaver.  I was able to catch 3 bass on one before discarding it.  I used the color "penetration" which is black on top, blue on bottom.  I t-rigged it with a 1/16 oz sinker and 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG hook.  I was very happy with its performance.

On a side note, I also ordered some "Boom Boom Tubes," and although I was able to catch 2 bass with them, I was unhappy, because the tube was ripped to shreds after catching each of them.

They are great baits.  I Texas Rig them mainly and my favorite color is Hematoma (Black & Blue)

Definetly a bait everyone should have in their bag of tricks. They work exceptionally well for me in and around lillypads. I peg them with an appropriate size bullet weight, and then hop them throughout the pads with a pause after every hop. When you give the bait a hop it will land doing a headstand, the little "claw-like" part of the bait sticks right up, really looks inticing to the fish if you ask me..

They also work well around stick piles and such, and very well in weeds. Due to the profile of the bait, it slips through weeds very easily. Although I don't use them in areas without cover, in that situation I'd rather throw a straight tail worm, or such. But in cover...definetly an incredible bait.

Are they that soft?  I've been eyeing them for some time, never got to see them in person though.  Are they more of a flippin' style tube?

Yes.  They are VERY soft with poor elasticity.  My first indication was when I put the hook through it, it tore a little bit.  I really don't think it is possible to catch more than one bass per tube.  Unless I just got a bad batch.

You were going to pay $15 for 3 Beavers? You must have really wanted those lil' guys. I am glad you were pleasantly surprised when your order showed up! Shows just how good their reputation is too.

Yeah. I was going to.  I've heard good things, so I thought other people must be doing it, and it must be worth it.

Reaction Innovations makes some awesome baits. You don't hear much about them, at least I don't, but their Dominator worm is killer too. For a while, I thought they out-fished a Senko. I'm not sure of that now, but it's still one of my all time favorite baits.
