Hmmmm... I have never texas rigged a plastic on a jig, I might have to try that. I can see where it would get hung up a lot less doing that. I usually just thread on on the hook...

If you look at the picture again & notice the second from the right that is the lead part of the Texas rigged jig; it is a slip sinker with a skirt.
