From RedsGear right? I have ordered two rods from them, both came in excellent shape and packaged with plenty of bubble wrap and giant tubes.

I ordered both the $62 drop shot spinning and the 6'6 mag crankbait ***** reese rods from them two weeks in a row.

I ordered something from amazon once, not fishing gear, but it was sent from a completely different company. The transaction was problem free. Maybe it is like a consignment sort of deal.

Killing the retailers...

I was just talking with a guy about this the other day. Amazon actually has Best Buy on the ropes. People go into the retail store, pick the brains of the sales staff, handle the product and then go home and buy on-line from a seller that has no building or inventory overhead. Sad, we all want the best deal but that's not alwys the lowest price.

Killing the retailers...

I remember one time Walmart had an item for less money online than at the store. We called the store and asked if they would match the price and they told us no. They do have free site to store shipping, so why no order the stuff online and have it shipped to the store for free. The guy told me that they are actually trying to encourage people to shop online. It did not make any sense to me at all. Same thing with Verizon. I had the girl tell me I get better deals online than at the store, so I was better off buying a new phone online. I guess these people have never heard of job security.

That is how a lot of stuff on amazon is. Amazon does stock and ship many items, but most of them come from different companies. I am sure a % goes to amazon, but companies basically use them as a medium to advertise their products instead of waiting for customers to "find" them. Also, with most items you have a choice of where you want to buy from. For any given item, there may be multiple stores that are offering it.

That being said, I purchase a lot from amazon...and I also purchase a lot from retailers. Some things I am just not willing to buy from retailers if I can get it online for a significant amount cheaper with free shipping.I have yet to come across a local company that has impressed me enough to gain all my business. I bought two different rods from amazon, both came packed half +++ thankfully they were not broken. The tube could have easily fit 10 poles in it, and my pole was barely wrapped at all. The second one was packaged nicely, but that was from an outside retailer.

As far as I know, TW will match prices, however, the price has to be from an authorized dealer of the items I think. I asked them about matching the price of Navionics platinum map cards from Cabelas for $30 off, and they said they would. The email said that I would have to call them to make the order. There was also a smaller website I found the cards for like $169, but they didn't mention that one, they just said they would match Cabelas' price.

They will match any price online as long as you can purchase it online and it is in stock. You do have to call to place your order and have the website that you found the items on hand.

Is that really true does tackle warehouse really match the price of another company.??????

from the TW website:

Guaranteed Lowest Prices

A self defining phrase that is as simple as it reads. Simply put, if you find a lower price, on any product we stock, we would like the opportunity to beat it. We owe our success to you, our customers, and we know that price is a critical concern. Our goal is to eliminate this concern by assuring you that by choosing Tackle Warehouse you're getting the lowest prices anywhere. We routinely scan our competitors to assure that our prices can't be beat. As should be expected, there are some common sense boundaries that apply. We must be able to verify the lower price. Lower prices that cannot be confirmed will not be honored. Simply inform one of our knowledgeable reps where you found a better price; once price and source are confirmed, and the parameters maintained, you can be secure in knowing Tackle Warehouse will beat it! We reserve the right to confirm lower prices before any final Tackle Warehouse sale. The source of a lower price must come from an authorized dealer within the United States of the product in question (i.e., authorized Shimano, Daiwa, etc. dealer). If the price does not come from an authorized source, current Tackle Warehouse prices stand.

Amazon provides free return shipping. I've ordered lures and computer parts from amazon w/o a problem. Internet shops may be bad for local stores but it also gives us the access on hard to find JDM tackles.
