What is your all time best color crankbait? I am not a big crankbait guy but, I want to get better at them! So the answers I get on color could help my master plan?

Always good to have a chartreuse color. Orange is good for deeper depths.& then maybe a close imitation to the baitfish.

I like the spring crawfish in the spring and fall. Fire tiger in the summer.

Gizzard Shad has always worked well for me from spring to fall. Strike King 1xs

If I chose just one it would be rootbeer. The green back and white belly can resemble bait fish, bluegill, and crawdads.

If it's stained to muddy water then I will use bright bellied colors with a dark back.

Tenn. Shad has always been my top producer. Second would probably be White/Black back.

I can't say just one color pattern - gotta have 3: something that looks like a shad, a bluegill, and a crawdad. If you fish northern waters for smallmouths, I'd go with brighter versions of the 3 variants.

Silver black back

Gold black back

Silver blue back

Firetiger

If I were on the look for cranks with little money those would be the colors I´d purchase.

In the Midwest, Bluegill is king, without a doubt my all time best around here.

That said, I'd likely go with a shad pattern, a chartreuse black back, a citrus shad and, bluegill.

Possibly the most important question concerning crankbait color should be concerning water clarity. The more water clarity the less obvious I want my crankbait to be... the less clarity... the more obvious. This pertains to color, action, silouette and noise.

i like natural colors. shiny is good too, metallic/pearl/chameleon paint etc. usually silver, gold, or bluegill. sometimes i like brown/orange/yellow if i'm going for a real reaction bite.

Natural colors work best for me. Shad, Perch and bluegill.

If stained water, Sexy Shad seems to produce really well.

Tennessee Shad followed by Orange Craw

I've had great luck with the Strike King's Sexy Shad. This is basically a threadfin shad color. The small lakes I fish here in Wisconsin do not have any threadfin shad in them but I've still had great success. So, to sort of mirror what others are saying, something which matches a baitfish.

I don't go overboard on my crank colors. If I'm trying to match a specific baitfish, usually bluegill or redear sunfish, I've got a few cranks that match those perfetly. Otherwise its:

Something natural

Something bright/vividly colored

Something white/shiny

An old classic favorite down here is also something gold.

rootbeer and citrus shad

Rapala's Yellow Perch color scheme, blue back charte. sides, then crayfish colors.

I would say tenn. shad is a great color one of my better producers for fish. chart and black back is great for murky or muddy water and it also depends on what brand of crankbaits u have too big fan of luckycraft best ever and a close second is bandits cheap and durable.

Out in the delta, Speed Traps are the best. I dont know why, they are pretty cheaply made lol even know they're pretty expensive. They have pretty good action though. But the bass prefer them over all other crankbaits for some reason lol.Our best color is Delta craw.

Other than that, i like sexy shad a lot,bleeding gizzard shad, and bleeding chrome blue/black. Most of my red eye shad are in these colors,and a lot of my shallow square bills are in sexy shad and some other darker colors
