Strike King Shadalicious

Featured Replies

I have not really been on the swimbait train recently(I know I am behind the 8 ball here). I have decided to throw some this year so I picked up some Yum Money minnows and some Strike King Shadalicious. I was wondering if anyone has fished the Shadalicious and if so how did it perform for you. Did it hold up well or fall apart after a few bites? I got the sexy shad color as that is all they had in stock. Thanks for the help.

It's a decent plastic, I'll get 8-10 fish or more on one, as long as I'm using the Owner swimbait hooks.

My son loves them... He saw strike classics and wanted to use them.

I prefer LF Live Magic Shad but these catch fish too. plain and simple.

Big fan of the Owner SB hooks too.

Good hooks are key to longevity! the owners are great. The 4.5" sk baits are good the 3.5 take more speed on your retreive to have a good action. I'd stick to the 4.5s they are more versital

I hated the money Minnows... too soft for my liking. I love the shadalicious swimbait though. Sexy shad and neon ghost are my favorites. I use 4 or 5 /0 Moaner Stroker Hooks. I learned a tip from Dave Lefebre about swimbait hooks. He said most people under weight their rigs. I got better action from my swimbaits when I started using heavier hooks.

4.5" in Sexy Shad has done pretty good for me the last few years. They hold up pretty well too.

A little Mend-It fixes 'em up. Hook of choice is 5/0 1/8 oz. weighted Gamakatsu Superline hook. Hard to find today for some reason but I have enough to last a few more years.

Mega Strike has a good one but haven't used it too much as it's pretty new. Solid bulky body shape. Worth a look.

X2, the Owner swimbait hooks are great.

from my experience the shadalicious baits are too stiff to get a good action out of, for the 3.5" anyway. but im weird, I also despise twist lock swimbait hooks.

The 5.5" inchers in Ayu have done me well. I picked up some of the Owner Beast hooks that I'll try soon but in the past the 6/0 Bass Magic weighted hooks BPS sells have worked just fine. I'd slit the belly open along the seam, and this made rigging and hooking easier for me.

The Shadalicious were the first soft swimbaits I purchased and I hated them. To hard to get good action on them. I prefer the Berkley Hollow Belly Soft Swimbaits.
