anyone using these,i tried one for a short time..doesn't really do much...i fisfed it kinda like a jerk bait......any one catch anything and how did you retrieve it......

What is old becomes reborn and new once more lol. I say this because at the moment I am holding an old wood lure made by Heddon that is shaped like a spook but skinnier that is weighted to sink with three treble hook on it. The lure is about 4 inches long. There is another saltwater lure called a dorky minnow that was made from soft plastic that did the same thing. What you have is a jerkbait same as mine and can be productive in any water but repala is marketing it for saltwater. If they market it right it will take off but it is a average lure and not a new idea.

I could never get it to swim right.  It never walked the dog it just kinda pulled straight back to the boat.

No bass, but caught some nice hybrids on it.

Works best when the depth of the water is around 5' or less.  I've done quite well during fall & winter w/ this lure.  Or cast parallel from shore where the water isn't as deep.  Do a frightened or injured minnow & stop the action, I get my hits when it just stops & flutters down.

The past two springs I have been really doing well with the sub walk ~ especially on SMB. In very clear water, pre-spawn, over spawning flats near deeper water it's been very good. I fish it like a jerk bait. The colder the water the longer the pause. Often times they will Only hit it on the pause. The twitches call them over and that long motionless pause gets them. I believe the sub walk is advertised as being able to "walk the dog" underwater. I've never been truly able to do this but I don't think it matter's anyway. It's a pretty good search bait too. You can take a few biters right off and them go back with plastics (tubes,grubs) and take a few more.

I have a couple and haven't caught as much as a cold with one yet.  Much better luck with the Sammy's, not much but at least some.

Caught 2 smallies and a largemouth today on a xrap subwalk in silver. first time i used it and within an hour 3 nice bass. here are the pics.

I picked up one of the Subwalks last year.  I tied it on and messed around with the retrieve.  The mentions above of working it like a jerkbait is where I've had modest results.  Give it a rip with some slack in your line to allow it to dart in each direction - the more slack you give it, the more it will glide.  

Overall, the action seemed pretty cool, just like a Sammy/Spook but underwater.  If you're a fan of the sure-set hooks, it has them, though I ditched the feathered treble on mine and it helps it walk a bit better.  The feather seems to drag it down.

I did catch a couple of fish on it, nothing more than a couple of 2 pounders though.  To be honest, I don't think I've used it more than an hour or so.  I won't totally knock the bait but IMO there are other baits that may be better suited for an erratic sub surface action, i.e. LC Pointer.   ;D
