Rat L Trap vs. Spot

Featured Replies

I'm reading and hearing alot lately as to the success of the Rat L Trap lures. I have a couple of Cordell Spot lures that look very similar to the Rat L Trap type lure. Is there any difference in the two? I guess I could just go out and buy a Rat L Trap and find out for myself.

I have many o both but the Cordells rarely make it on my line. The traps have a way better wiggle(tighter) and rattles. I have not found a better lip less bait than the trap!

Gotta love them traps.  I use 3/4 oz for stripers and 1/2, sometimes 3/4 for bass.  They get into everything but work like a charm.

Both are good lipless cranks, but the Cordell Super Spot has a better action than the trap. Spots are my favorite lipless cranks.

Besides differences in action they both have totally different sound, one should not replace the other but rather complement it.

there are 4 brands of lipless cranks that i will fish. cordell is not one of them.Bagleys,SPRO(not real loud though),xcalibur, and of course good ol bill lewis rat l trap

My thoughts exactly. There are day they want the Trap, there are days the Spot is the ticket, there are days both work equally well and there are days neither works.
