Bait Caster Reels

Featured Replies

How dose a guy keep the line from spooling up more on one side of spool? It looks like a high point on the right side and slopes down to the left side.

Make sure the pawl on your level wind isn't wore out or dirty. Some bait-casters seem to put more on one side than the other for some reason.

If your like me and use a book to run your line thru when spooling then just angle your reel the opposite direction the side its starting to fill up to much on til it evens out. Works for me.

Make sure the line is going straight into the levelwind guide. If you're using backing, you can check the the connection. I've seen bulky knots throw things off track. If you've got an older Ambassaduer or something else with a synchronized level-wind make sure the line guide is in line with the line on the spool.
