Issues With Trolling Motor

Featured Replies

So I have a 80# minnekota Vector 3X transom mount trolling motor which has been giving me some problems lately. whats happening is when I turn it on the prop wont move till about the 2 setting and then it is jerky, when I get to higher settings it vibrates quite a bit. I took the prop off and watched the shaft, there is no bend that I can see. It also seems to be killing my battery faster than normal plus a drop in power. any suggestions is this something I would be able to fix myself?

call Minn Kota and complain to them they may have a fix

X2.

I've had great experiences with Minn Kota's customer service. They should be able to help you out.

Most likley the switch is going bad order one and replace it. This is an easy fix should not take long at all.

Good Luck,

We hae a great trollingmotor shop in Richmond, Virgiia.

The guy who owns the shop is a professional bass fisherman and an overall good guy.

Give him a call and ask him what he thinks is going on.

He may be able to give you some insight so you can take the motor to a repair shop or you can do the work.

Here is his contact information:
