Anyone fishing Pickwick below Wilson Dam? We did very well earlier this

spring on square billed crankbaits, but I haven't heard a peep since the

flooding began. Anyone been down recently?

There has been a lot boats down below the dam even with the heavy current flowing but I don't know if they are catching anything. If there are a bunch of boats down there I figure they must be biting. The water level now is down to about where you would expect it to be this time of year but may elevate a bit with this latest bout of rain. They still had the current going when I came across the dam Thursday but the spillways are off and have been for a while now. I haven't had my boat in the water in three weeks. Hope to change that this week with the cooler/calmer weather they are predicting.

I haven't been lately. I plan on getting in a few afternoons this week. Maybe I can tell you something in a day or two.

I fished below the Pickwick Dam today and had a great day. We boated 5 or 6 smallies and around 40 largemouth. Almost all of them ranged from 2 to 2 1/2 lbs with a couple being right over 3. Caught them all out of 3 different spots. Where the shad were jumping the bass were stacked in there today. We caught majority of them on crankbaits, some top water, and some rage crawls, but I don't think it really mattered what you threw at them today. I've noticed my best 3 days on the river have been on over cast days. Did y'all have any luck below Wilson? It's been hit or miss lately. I went about a week ago when the flood water was high and only managed 1 fish.

Six fish in eight hours. The only one that measured was a 2 1/2-3 lbs largemouth.

Saturday was cold, wet and windy. TVA opened four gates and all the generators

seemed to be operating. We fished shallow, deep, grass, rip-rap and rocks. We

even spent time immediately below the dam. We blame it on the overnight arrival

of the cold front, but whatever it was, it wasn't working for us.

had a friend (micheal jones) that won his tourney saturday with 20 lbs. including a sold 4-5 lb smallie on pickwick

I fished the barge canal below Wilson dam Tuesday and caught five keeper largemouths. One was pretty good, most were just keepers. I was swimming a Fat Albert grub.
