Which Mojo? ?

Featured Replies

Im pretty fixed on a mojo casting rod. I know this topic has been brought up plenty!....but I still need a lil input. I mostly throw plastics, senkos, creatures. Also throw some med & sometimes heavy spinnerbaits. I handled the "plastics" model today and it felt pretty good. I heard that tha spinnerbait model might be a better all around rod?? They didn't have the spinnerbait rod in stock to handle. So what do you guys think?.. is the spinnerbait model a better all around rod?.. thanx in abvance

Don't bump your own posts, please.

Any 6-7' medium power fast action rod will do.

Saint Croix's medium is a bit heavier than other companies.

I bet the MBC70MF would do. I have a LTB with same specs, and it's well suited for everything in your list.

I have both the 7 foot plastics rod and the 7 foot spinnerbait rod and I think you'll be be happier with the plastics rod unless you fish a lot of heavy cover, then you'd be better off with the spinnerbait rod. The spinnerbait rod is pretty stout, I use mine for fishing jigs and plastics in heavy cover, don't think I've ever thrown a spinnerbait on it but I'm sure it would do it just fine if you went with that rod.

I don't have the plastics model, but I do have the spinnerbait model. I throw mostly jigs and t-rigged plastics on the spinnerbait rod. I really like it for those applications. If you're throwing weightless senkos the lower powered rod might be better, but I just use one of my spinning rods for those. I've used mine for spinnerbaits a couple times and its ok, but I have another combo that I prefer for spinnerbaits. That might have more to do with the line than the rod though. I have the reel on my mojo spooled with braid, and I prefer mono for spinnerbaits. Between the two rods you're considering, it really comes down to personal preference. Both should be a good all-around rod, which is better for you depends on how they feel to you and the size of baits and types of cover you fish most often.
