Icast 2011

Featured Replies

Hello bass brothers,

I don't know if this topic has been discussed or not but is there anything that you guys are looking forward to seeing at ICAST this year?? I myself would like to see St. Croix make some split grip Avids with some mirco guides. I'm pretty sure that abu Garcia will make the Veritas with micro guides due to that rod selling really well but I would like to see a model strictly for cranking. Lastly...if anybody of any signifigance is affiliated with Diawa...step up to the plate and bring us something new and refreshing. Tight lines.

P.S...oh...and to the reel companies, show us LEFTIES some love.

X2 about Diawa and I would also like to see some budget XH rods for Punching something with some real backbone that wont break the bank.

P.S Why would any reel companies make reels with the handles on the wrong side?

Diawa needs to produce a baitcast reel in the 150-200 dollar range that is quality.

defiantly a new shimano line up seeing that all their stuff is on closeout

S13john, I got a BPS flyer today in the mail and it had the curado $40 off. I was going to hop in my car and get one but I figured I'd save my money for the new stuff coming out.

You haven't tried the TD Advantage then eh? I like it quite a bit!

i really like diawas but i definatly agree with hookingem. that is a super competitive spot with the lews, curados and revos all in that price spot.

New Shimano reels!!! :)

I agree with AJ (Hookingem), Diawa needs to be more competitive in that $150-$200 range. They have been around for a long time so, I know they make quality reels. But, those reels are usually a bit heavier and rated drag force is less then what is already in that price range.

Cant wait for the new Shimano reels to come out, I was thinking about buying a 200E7 on closeout, but more curious about what is around the bend. B)

I cant wait for the new Shimano lineup!!!

On the Daiwa line's, I would like to see a budget Zillion (if thats possible) because I really love the palm-ability of that frame design.

I would also like to see more rods (Casting) with the fuji ECS reel seat. They are IMO the best out there (Comfort-wise) and the rods they come on are few and far between. (Besides Quantum... Yuck.)

Yeah Iv'e tried it it's definitely No Curado....

Haha I agree. Clary if you want my Advantage it's $100 TYD. Great condition.

I agree, the Zillion is far and out the most comfortable reel for me to palm on the market. Screw the budget, get a job. ;)

Daiwa ain't gonna make your dreams come true, not this year at least.

I hope Strike King adds an Earl Grey tea flavored tube.

With Honey Tips...

Awesome.
