Tackle To Use In A Heavy Cover Scenario

Featured Replies

I'm going to a place that has a bunch of cypress trees and lilly pads tomorrow and I wanted to know if what I'll be using is right.

Buzzbait

Chartruese Spinnerbait

10" Ol Monster Worm

Big Finesse worm

Topwater Frog

Baby Minus Square Bill

Punch Jig

You could fish about any texas rigged bait around either types of cover and most jigs around both. I'd add some deeper running square bills (RC 1.5's, bandit 100's, SK KVD 1.5's) and rattle traps for banging into trees, running the edge of the pads. Rage toads,Zoom Horny toads for the pads. A weightless texas rigged Senko next to a tree or into an opening in the pads can be killer too.

Went and this is what I caught. Caught it on a livetarget frog that a member on here gave me. I'm extremely happy I finally was able to catch something with it.

She hit a lilly pad and missed it then I threw it back where she blew up on it and she held it.

nice fish next time you should try and throw a money minnow in the pads and have some great fun, burn it or reel it slow doesn't matter. i like a rattle around the outsides of lilly's too.

It doesn't matter Fat-G, there are too many peeps on this site who would like to debate that. lynyrdsk1 did the right thing by undersizing that one. Pics are hard to tell. ;)
