Has anyone tried these? I bought a pack in the white pearl and rigged it with a BPS 5/0 1/8 oz swimbait hook. These things are deadly. If you have not used them yet, I highly recommend them. Plus, you cannot beat the price of $2.99/6 pack. These are my new favorite swim baits.

How do you guys rig them? Texas or with a swimbait weighted hook?

 

Owner Beast if I'm fishing them by themselves or I use them as swim jig trailers. I agree with you that they are very good baits @ their $3.99 price tag.

Hook exposed light jig head. I needed to thin down the tail section to increase it's action with a 3/16oz. jig head.

I have used them and caught fish on them, but I suggest giving the Bitter's naked swimmer a try. IMO they're much better than the grass pig. They have a great action even at really slow speeds. I use them all the time, and prefer them over any other swim baits, with the RI skinner dipper as my second favorite.

Ive decided to throw more of these styled baits this season, Working them in deep and shallow grass. Have you find a particular situation where these baits really shine? Also what line are you primarily throwing them on? Braid or fluoro?

Tstone is right about the Bitters Naked Swimmer!  I've fished both the RI Skinny and Little Dipper and the Grass Pig. 

 

The Naked Swimmer outperforms all of them.  A tad softer, more action in water with less effort.

 

And, best.....2 packs for $5.00!!

Ive decided to throw more of these styled baits this season, Working them in deep and shallow grass. Have you find a particular situation where these baits really shine? Also what line are you primarily throwing them on? Braid or fluoro?

I've found them to be very effective fishing ponds. I didn't do anything but "cast and crank" last summer from the bank and caught some nice ones. Also I've had good luck using them on an A-Rig. They make good swim jig trailers. I always throw mine on straight braid. When out on my boat I fish them in and around grass with the same type of technique, mostly cast and wind. I try to make them bang into the grass stalks and any wood that may be in the water.

 

Bottom line for me I guess is simply that these baits catch fish pretty well given the right conditions.  They're easy to fish to boot.

Thanks War eagle, I ended up setting it up on 50 lb braid yesterday!

Great as a swim jig trailer!!!!! Just take about a in. off of the head and your good to go!

50 is what I use 90% of the time with those baits myself. Have used 40 with no problems as well.

I heard they are awesome on the back of a swim jig too once you trim them down some.

I use 40lb braid, 5/0 twistlock hook, and a 1/8 oz weight pegged. My most productive pattern is swimming them through pads and pausing every so often to let them swim down. I have caught fish on them topwater, swimming them shallow through grass, and even in deeper water just letting them swim to the bottom. Great all around baits.

I like the grass pig on a football head with no weedguard. Either a straight retrieve or stroked along the bottom or over weeds. Put a whole one on the back of a spinnerbait or swimjig for a good big fish presentation. 

My dad hooked in 30 bass the other day on these. Apparently bps sent him a free bag so he brought them and he had the 3.5 inch version rigged on 8lb test with a 1/8 ounce split shot above it. He was catching some big ones too. The small one gets a lot of bites
