Today I was out fishing, and while i was adjusting the VBS on my Citica I popped one of the red brake collars (part # 3505)out and it floated into the strog current and away. I fished without the brake collar the rest of the day no problem. My question is do I need to get a new brake collar, and what is the best way to get the part, (just call shimano custumer service?)

If you know anyone who fishes Shimano baitcasting reels they will have plenty

to spare. Otherwise, send me a PM with your mailing address and I will send you

Call Shimano customer service at 877-577-0600 and they will send you replacements free. I just did for the same brake. In this regard, I have experienced them providing various tiny items at no charge. The extra brakes in your reel box will not be the same brake and are heavier brakes.
