they will hit the buzzbait while on its side or straight up.

as said above, slow down retrieve.

If you haven't tried a Cavitron, you need to. They produce a unique

chirping sound as well as a strong bubble wake. My favorite is 3/8 oz,

X2 - These are great buzzbaits. Have been using them myself for over 1/2 doz. years.

The Booyah Pipsqueak Buzz planes very quickly and runs great fast or slow retrieve..also has similar sqeaky sound that the Cavitron has only louder....

The Warrior Baits buzzbait has been doing it for me all year.  In the past I would only throw a Cavitron due to the holes in the prop which give it a great sound.  In addition to the holes in the blade, the Warrior also includes a clacker for more sound.  PLUS, it has what I call a 'planing board.'  It's is pretty much a spinner bait blade mounted to the shaft that keeps the bait running flat.

Cavitrons are the best buzzbaits of all time, bar none. I hate using power pro or any braid/fused superline for topwaters though. My buzzbaits are run with 12 - 14 pound mono.
