C & R In 80 Degree Water

Featured Replies

Am fishing a bass league as a substitute partner for a friend. The surface temp of the water is around 80 degrees. What can we do to keep fish from dying in the live well? His boat does not have a recirculating live well. Should we put ice in the livewell?

Go to the Sure-Life.com web site. I also believe there is a link to a video on this site that details how to keep bass alive in warm water livewell conditions.

Putting ice in livewell water works IF done correctly, you can also kill bass from thermal sock if you add too much. A combination of Catch & Release formula, frozen pint water bottles and proper DO levels is needed....the video explains what you need to do.

Freeze a few 1 liter bottle of water and throw them in the well.
