Hi when bass fishermen are asked about the bass in a lake and they say few and far between is that lake still worth fishing?

The fishing is always slow if you ask me even if we have caught 100+. Fisherman tell tales to keep the number of boats down on their favorite water. Go out and fish and figure out how the fishing is!

Look for somewhere else to fish.

Either that or they dont how to fish the lake them selves bc they are not locating fish.

Really depends on the source of the info. I fish a few area's where the mainstream fishermen think that it sucks or that it is seasonal and the reality is there are a few of us that know what is up. For instance I had a day last year at one place in particular where I had three fish that went just over 28lbs and when people asked how the fishing was... I down played it big time. I made it sound like it's not worth the time and energy. Not to mention I made it a point to complain about the weeds. The very place the fish came out of. The problem is...if the word got out, it would be like fishing salmon on the American River, elbow to elbow. There would be big beautiful fish in 5gal buckets headed to the fryer

That he said iv had times where I would just be throwing a 5lber back and be asked how there biting and id say there not those that are are dinks when in reality I'm catching tons of good quality fish but a lot of people around here I see fishing keep there big purty bass. If they have a bucket I tell em fishing sucks lol

My favorite lake to fish has a nick name of "One Fish Anna" Im not sure where that name originated from but never the less the lake will produce some big fish if you know how to fish it.

Just like any body of water you must do your homework and go out and fish it to really find out for yourself.

Also with any well kept secret the locals are the ones I really cant blame for wanting to keep its fishery alive for generations to come if it really does hold some good fishing.

If it's worth a fishing trip then by all means spend a day there and find out for yourself.
