Line Twisting

Featured Replies

Ii have a Quantum bait caster spooled with 17# Cajun Line and it is very twisted and is quite aggrivating, I am going to re-spool my reel soon anyways with 15# Trilene. Do you guys have any tips to prevent this from happening again?

Hope this helps! Other than this, that's all I know. I never had a problem on baitcasters but I get line twist on my spinning gear. I just try to do what I read somewhere dealing with line twists and trolling off your line in the water and then reel it back in but I do think my main problem is over filling with flouro on my spinning gear!

Happens with spinning all the time. I hate cajun line.I had it on once since somebody here said it's gotten better.One-two outing and I took the garbage off.

I use trilene XT 14# test and never had a problem with it. I spray the spool down with KVD line conditioner.

Line twist on a baitcaster happens if the bait is revolving like a spoon or soft plastic, in my case cut bait. Ball bearing swivels will help.
