Hey folks, which Northstar Jig is your favorite? How/when/where do you use it? Let's hear it!

Premier series in 3/8 and 1/2; along with the 3/4 in deep water. Colors really vary, I've been fishing more PB+J and Green Pumpkin candy than anything here lately. The Junebug is stellar as well. As to the where and when, always and anywhere. One of the biggest reasons I like the alien head is that it's versatile in nearly all situations. It fishes very well in rock and wood, as well as has a very soft landing when pitching around docks and such. Because of the head design, it skips quite well, too. It's not the perfect grass jig, but in this area we tend to fish a lot of mixed cover and a traditional grass jig gets hung easily, the alien head works well enough in both that it is the most effective option.

1/2 oz. Premier Alien head, pitched to laydowns and timber.

Black and blue.

3/8 Swim Jig in Newgill.

Chuck it around isolated grass and wood.

Hairy Jig. Black on black or black & brown.

Light Purple Shad or Tennessee Shad swim jig with a white NetBait Big Bopper. Anywhere, everywhere, all year long.

For fishing the bottom, it's a Premier jig with the alien head in the Alimony pattern. That Alimony has to be my favorite color on a jig - ever.

I prefer the Premier Series jigs with Alien and Football heads, mainly in 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 oz weights. Like Hooligan said, the Alien heads are very versatile for fishing around a mix of weeds, wood, rocks, and docks. The Alien Premiers are the best jigs that I've tried.

Black/Blue and PB&J have been my most productive colors this year. Alimony, Junebug, Okeechobee Flame, and Green Pumpkin/Purple have also been very effective at times.

I see nobody has mentioned the Pro Series yet. Don't let the price fool you, these are great jigs and the best value around.

Pro Series are excellent as well, I have more of those than Premier jigs.
