I would love to ask you a question if you do not mind. I too have just started tying jigs with wire how did you get your skirt so even around the tie. Mine just wants to bunch up and if I try to straighten it out it just rips the strands off. Great looking jigs and the photography is fantastic too.

Thanks, I appreciate the compliments! I wrap the wire once around the jig head, leaving it tight enough to hold the skirt in place, but not so tight that I can't move the strands. That's when I move the skirt material where I want it before tightening the wire and wrapping it the rest of the way. I usually lose a few strands, but a few isn't a big deal.

What kind of wire do you use I wanna wire wrap my store bought jigs and spinners because the bands break. It looks like just welding wire is that what it is cuz if so I got 55gal drums full of it that's old just sitting that we can't use at work anymore

copper wire is the best imo. I use 24. Looks like that jig has about 20-22

I'm using copper wire. You can buy spools of it at craft stores. If the wire you've got is soft enough, you can probably use it.

I've tried a couple different things, including thread, and I also like the copper wire. It's soft enough that it's not too much of a pain to work with, but strong enough that it won't break too easily. I know the wire I'm using is bigger than 24 gauge, although I couldn't tell you what size it is for sure.

I have been using 20 gauge copper wire and it is working good. If you have a Hobby Lobby close to you, you can buy it in the jewelry making isle and get colors. I bought a 15 yard spool of black colored copper for about $12 there is no telling how many jigs I have tied with it.

if i may ask what mould do you use that creates the loop while having a no-show of the hooks loop?
