How Would You Fish This Lake?

Featured Replies

It is very rocky, the water is clear, not much vegetation, and the water is very deep. About 30 feet from the shore the water can be 100 feet or so. Any tips are welcome.

Any idea what type of bass are in it or average size? I'd probably be fishing plastics on a shakeyhead, dropshot, T-rig, C-rig, in that order and in natural colors. Sometimes a burned spinnerbait in bright colors will work well in clear water, especially if there's smallmouth. Topwater can be very effective in deep clear water also. You might look at some of the articles on the site and read up a little on fishing deep clear water also.

There are largemouth, hybrids, some smallmouth. Thanks for the help. I will find some articles. There are also a lot of rock walls. There are very few points, should I fish the points that are there?

Points and any shoreline you can find that has a more gradual slope would be where I would start. Also isolated rock piles, they are tough to find without side imaging but if you can find rock piles on the 2 structures I named they will be absolute money!

Fish the drop-offs, try top water and Super Flukes with a splitshot about 4 inches above the hook.
